Why Are We Addicted To Consuming Content?

As I sit in my room having posted a blog; gone to work prior and exercised after, I’m struggling to find ways to keep myself entertained. And that’s when it hit me — I might be addicted to consuming content.

I will say this, I LOVE YouTube. It’s one of those platforms that I log into multiple times a day. I love watching vlogs by expats as well as music and dance videos, and the occasional commentary about topics I know little of. But I can’t seem to stop. And sometimes (like today) I get worried about that.

Just to give you a quick recap of my day: I went to work at 5 am (sounds crazy but it’s awesome getting work done early in the morning), came home around 10:30 am, did a twenty minute work-out, showered and had lunch at around noon. Wrote a blog, posted it and began watching YouTube videos on the topics of relationships, marriage, male gaze, etc. And of course, my favorite music videos.

As I write this it’s almost five in the afternoon and I’m bored, so bored I took out my drawing pencil that I haven’t touched for months and drawing book. I completed my little project in less than thirty minutes and now I’m back to feeling bored. I felt a slight panic. This dooming feeling that I…
