Member-only story
March 7th, 2025.
It’s currently six thirty-seven in the morning…
I cannot recall the last time I was up this early on a regular basis — probably when I was in college, which I cannot believe I’m saying this, I graduated six years ago… Time really does fly by.
For some reason, the past couple of days staying asleep has been a bit of a battle.
I have no trouble falling asleep, but after about three or four hours, I’m awake and have a pretty tough time falling back asleep.
I don’t feel exhausted or drained at the moment, which I suppose is a good sign, but it does worry me slightly.
There was a time not long ago (maybe a year or two) when sleep evaded me completely, and I was not the nicest person to be around then.
Who knows why this is happening? One thing I’ve learned about situations like these is that when you don’t know why some things are happening, it’s better to take a deep breath, let whatever is happening take its course, and not stress too much about the fact that you can’t control it.
Unfortunately, I cannot control whether I stay asleep or how fast I fall back asleep, so I’m focusing on tasks I can do with the extra time.
If I happen to become tired later on today, I’m fortunate that I don’t have to go into work…
