Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope the beginning of the week is going well for everyone coming across this entry.
I, on the other hand, am ending my work ‘week.’ I work as a bartender/server, so my Mondays start on Friday, and Mondays are my Fridays.
After today, I will get to enjoy some time off from work, and then on Friday, I’ll be back to the grind.
Oddly enough, I’ve grown to love my schedule despite it seeming like my ‘best’ days are taken up by work.
I will admit, it does make attending family gatherings a little challenging, but thankfully, there’s a way to work around that for important events — all in all, I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much.
Which is something I realized I felt more while working a nine-to-five — FOMO (fear of missing out).
Once I started working as a bartender (seeing things from the ‘other side’), I realized all those fears or the yearning to do something every weekend was just a coping mechanism; at least, for me, it was.
I wasn’t happy at any of my corporate/office jobs, nor did I feel like I was progressing in the direction I wanted to go, so weekends became a release. Of course, this involved copious amounts of alcohol.
