Just Cause You Didn’t Start on January 1st Doesn’t Mean it’s too Late to Start.

It’s time to turn our unrealistic expectations into realistic ones.

I cannot begin to tell you the number of times I thought I was ‘behind’ or ‘late’ because I didn’t start working towards my resolutions on January 1st, at 8 am on the dot.

I’m sure plenty of people still suffer from this kind of mindset — the all-or-nothing mentality, which is self-destructive, by the way.

One of the main reasons (I’ve mentioned it in other blogs and on some of my YouTube videos) we put this unbelievable amount of pressure on ourselves to accomplish our goals or resolutions asap is because we think we don’t have enough time.

We’re constantly thinking we’re behind and think we need to ‘catch up’ with our goals, which tends to lead to an all-or-nothing mindset or the end-justifies-the-means mindset.

Both are very dangerous and can (and probably will) cause more harm than good.

Here’s my cautionary tale:

I’ve been trying to lose weight for as long as I can remember.

Looking back, I remember as early as eleven years old, I was thinking of ways to become thinner and, therefore, more attractive…
