I got the Pfizer Vaccine — Here’s what happened

It was not a pleasant experience to say the least.

I need to preface this by letting you all know that I had the virus towards the end of 2020. The only way I can describe it is that I had the flu, but it was on steroids. I had a 103-degree fever that lasted around 7 to 8 days, forcing me to take multiple ice baths to bring my temperature down as well as debilitating headaches, nausea, body aches, massive dizzy spells that would not allow me to stand up for more than 3 to 5 minutes; I think that sums it up — fortunately, I didn’t lose my sense of smell or taste. Oh and because of all those symptoms I could not hold down food for about 3 days — yay!

With the vaccine, judging the experience stand-alone I can say it was awful but having experienced the virus to compare it to, it was mild. I’ve heard all kinds of symptoms and experiences with the vaccine and I will say this, don’t go in expecting your side effects will be the same as your friend, partner, family member. I would recommend going in with no expectations and preparing yourself for at least a day of symptoms. If you’re like me and the vaccine takes you on a trip, you may want to take at least 2 days off to recover somewhat; at least until you’re able to move around freely.
