I Got Ghosted — And It Freaking Sucked

And it’s made me realize that many individuals in my generation (and others) are fostering a culture that lacks accountability in today’s dating world.

I met a guy about five weeks ago at a local pool/sports bar. We happened to be standing near each other and he asked me if I wanted to be his partner. I agreed not thinking much about it, and the rest is history as they say. I’m kidding, it’s barely been over a month but I have learned a lot throughout these past few weeks.

By the third week I noticed a change in his behavior. I tried to not think much about it, believing that perhaps he didn’t have much to share as of late. But after the end of the fourth week, he cut communication completely. And at this point, about a week later or longer, I have not heard from him. Therefore, I got ghosted.

In the beginning, it really bothered me that I could not figure out if there was something I did or said that made him mad at me or dislike me, or if it was something outside of the relationship. I am in confusion land, and during the first few days it drove me mad. Previous to that, I tried to engage in conversation but either I was left on read or received a cryptic answer.
