I appreciate your response and I do understand what you mean. I believe this stems from our society valuing looks, popularity, money, etc., over character. Unfortunately, it’s really tough out there. But I found that valuing character and continuing to be a compassionate, loving person is what wins in the long run. I wouldn’t be in a healthy, thriving relationship if I didn’t continue to live by those values. I was single for a very very long time before I met my partner, and I’m glad I stuck to my guns because I found a great person whom I can actually have difficult conversations with and grow with. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.
