Have Grace with Yourself as You Start the New Year and Return to a Routine After the Holidays.
Nothing and no one is perfect, especially right off the bat.
The New Year is here, and so is the time for resolutions, transformations, new year — new me, etc.
Here’s what I’ve learned after countless failed attempts at changing myself and my life: there’s no perfect plan, schedule, or routine that you will follow or complete perfectly.
Why? Because we’re humans on planet Earth.
We’re imperfect beings living in an imperfect world.
This is why it’s so important to have grace as you attempt to start a new journey or chapter of your life.
Don’t get me wrong, grace isn’t an excuse.
You’ll still need to push yourself, hold yourself accountable, and make changes.
What grace does is it allows room for error. If you fall off the wagon, that’s okay.
This doesn’t nullify the progress you’ve made over the last week, weeks, months, etc.
Grace (in my humble opinion) is understanding and accepting your humanity, which means understanding that the process of changing, making progress, and growing isn’t perfect or linear.
