Doing The Work To Change My Mindset Is Giving Me Back My Sanity (and Health).
When we accept that we’re are not perfect and don’t have all the answers, and allow ourselves to believe that someone else may know better, we open our lives to a world of opportunities and growth.
Perhaps the biggest lesson I have learned in my development journey is that to make true lasting changes in life, we need to come from a place of love and self-respect. Like I’ve mentioned in other blogs, I used to focus the majority of my energy in trying to look a certain way which would have me labeled as ‘desirable’. In my recovery journey, I learned to shift my mindset from ‘I want this body’ to “ I want to feel happy and healthy’, and that shift was monumental in giving me my health and sanity back. My previous mindset was all about managing other people’s perceptions of what they thought about me.
