And that’s all fine and great. But when someone calls you out for your offensive or inappropriate joke, please don’t blame someone else because they’re too “sensitive” or “can’t take a joke”. It’s okay to apologize, your ego will be okay. And if you’re not acting based on your unholy thoughts, then this blog wasn’t directed at you. This is for the men or perpetrators that blame the victim. The men or perpetrators who say that women’s clothes are to blame, or that because a person was dressed or acted a certain way they must have been looking for trouble.
Rather than constantly defend yourself, how about maybe reflect on what’s being said? You’re not being targeted (like women are). Think about that.
And also, I’m no political activist. I’m just a woman standing up for other women and the very real harassment we experience constantly.
